I remember Street Life in the late 80′s and early 90′s, found on the corner of O’Connell and Victoria Street in AK. It was the well-liked streetwise store, providing locals with cool collections including the knitwear legend Standard Issue. Back then Standard Issue was renowned for accessible knitwear with clean, simple collections that appealed to the young and the old. Standard Issue dropped off the radar through the nineties and for a moment ceased to operate.Phil Bramley from Auckland knitwear company Private Collections partnered with original designer Nigel Richards and together the pair breathed new life into the brand and reintroduced Standard Issue to the market place five years ago.
