Kowtow (traditional Chinese叩頭simplified Chinese叩头pinyin: Kòu tóu; Cantonese: Kau tàuh) is the act of deep respect shown by kneeling and bowing so low as to touch the head to the ground.

Kowtow hails from Wellington and produce a range of graphic printed tees on very nice organic 100% fairtrade cotton. Each and every tee comes with a compilation CD of NZ music you most likely will not hear anywhere else. Kowtow have just released their new sumer collection of prints and we have some in store right now.

tulsi from standard issue is on a road trip around the north island and visited us today. she tried on a few things for us while in the store, here she wears a standard issue deep vee sweater in cream mix.

Today the store was taken over by Salasai and the shooting of the new collection for next winter and more importantly the show at this years NZ fashion week. I’m sure all over the country it’s a mad rush right now for all the design houses, adding the last touches to their collections.

Chey Ataria

ABC was established by legendary buddhist and street skater Chey Ataria around the turn of the century. From humble beginnings in a small room in Grey Lynn and then a garage studio in Avondale, ABC has now grown to become an iconic skate and street brand from the shores, north of the bridge.

Standard IssueI remember Street Life in the late 80′s and early 90′s, found on the corner of O’Connell and Victoria Street in AK. It was the well-liked streetwise store, providing locals with cool collections including the knitwear legend Standard Issue.

Kirsha worked in Melbourne as head womens wear designer for Mooks Clothing Company. She produced ranges that sold internationally which gave her a chance to grow her own design skills and indentity.
