some of these designs we ran back in summer and we had a few requests for some more.. so here you go, a renewed batch of unisex tees, all organic and printed with super soft water based inks…for that feel good feeling.
we tried a printing technique where you print on the inside to let the ink bleed through and these are the results. sort of a natural distressed look.
A Love Supreme is an ethical and sustainable movement with a print focus. Hand printed on sweat shop free organic cotton with non-toxic water based inks that are safe for the wearer and the printer.
The first collection from this in-house project is based on classic artists from jazz and soul, from Prince Tui Teka to Stevie Wonder. The great thing about these t-shirts is the print is so soft, you can’t feel the ink… something i hate about plastisol is the plastic heavy feel, not to mention the toxicity in the ink. Today the store was taken over by Salasai and the shooting of the new collection for next winter and more importantly the show at this years NZ fashion week. I’m sure all over the country it’s a mad rush right now for all the design houses, adding the last touches to their collections.

ABC was established by legendary buddhist and street skater Chey Ataria around the turn of the century. From humble beginnings in a small room in Grey Lynn and then a garage studio in Avondale, ABC has now grown to become an iconic skate and street brand from the shores, north of the bridge.
I remember Street Life in the late 80′s and early 90′s, found on the corner of O’Connell and Victoria Street in AK. It was the well-liked streetwise store, providing locals with cool collections including the knitwear legend Standard Issue.
Workshop is for the neo modernist who can rely on the brand delivering quality and functional style. In this post modernist age it can be a relief to have clothing that’s not trying to jump out at you, challenge you or just say too much. Salasai is now into her fourth consecutive collection and the new Winter 08 collection “Domestic Maid in Waiting” has arrived and will be making its way out onto the racks today.Salasai is owned by young local designer, Kirsha Whitcher. Kirsha worked in Melbourne as head womens wear designer for Mooks Clothing Company. She produced ranges that sold internationally which gave her a chance to grow her own design skills and indentity.
