We have some new editions of some old favorites. These are Giclee fine art prints on heavy art paper measuring 400 x 400mm

More of a buffalo gentleman. Low res and lots of dot gain.

Te Wepu is based on the famous flag flown by Te Kooti and captured from Ngati Kahungunu. The crescent moon is a portent of a new world, and the red cross is the fighting cross of the Archangel Michael. The mountain represents New Zealand, and the bleeding heart the suffering of the Māori people.

A new print for the shortest day of the year. Time for the garlic and onions to go in the garden.

i just have a thing for black and white.

OK, so here is a little rework of our logo and some work i was playing around with over a year ago. good things take time i guess.

My grandmother would spend all day in the garden, it was her pride and joy and she loved growing food and also the creative side of growing flowers and landscaping the earth.

made this for the hui hui exhibition this friday. have been playing around with this idea for ages… glad to finally nail it.

A new print for today. Needed to get back into the swing of things and make some new work. printed on nice white paper or recycled card.

I was lucky enough to visit a pair of stuffed huia the other day and made sure i took my camera along. I visited this couple many years ago and it was probably the last time they came out of their boxes. At the time my camera wasn’t so great, 4MP which was pretty fancy back then. Now i have nice hi-res versions, which means i might have to come up with some new work now.

Here is a new print for this week. It is based on the Fantasyland Castle now part of Splash Planet which now has slides coming off it in all directions. The Pirate Ship might have to be the next undertaking.

we end up doing a few custom print combos and here are a several pania variations.

I printed this design on some nice lightweight hemp fabric we had lying aound the store. I thought black would be nice and after printing decided that a couple of cushions could be choice and here we have the result that i’m pretty happy with. I then started pondering whether i should do some more items like this and decided that yes i should. I had a think about branding – apparently i need to have a brand and one that stuck is Aroha&Friends. So there you have it, the humble beginnings of a little product range from Aroha&Friends. Sweet. Now i just have to come up with the rest of the collection.
